First Trip to South Boston

This weekend we headed to South Boston to meet more family!  We had a great visit with Aunt Elsie and Uncle Allen on Saturday and then met more of the Wilborn family later that afternoon - Kristin's cousins were so adorable and her aunts and uncles were so excited to finally meet our baby girl.  Kristin also met her Uncle Shea and Aunt Denise, as well as, her cousins on Sunday.  Gram and Grandpa Sawyer had a special treat with triplet goats being born the day we arrived.  Kristin took in all the new sounds and sights on this quick trip to So Bo..... looking forward to more visits soon!

Happy Valentine's Day and Sharing Toys

Kristin celebrated her first Valentine's Day enjoying Valentine cards and treats!  She  loves looking at and holding the cards she receives in the mail.

Kristin and Boozer's bond is growing stronger and stronger every day.  He is quick to check on her when she makes a sound and she loves seeing him.  Boozer has claimed one of her toys as his own and is adjusting to all the new sounds an infant brings to a household.

Music, Basketball, and Playing in water

We have been home about a month and Kristin is adjusting well - she is sleeping through the night, eating well, and is very happy.  She loves reading books - Corduroy is one of her favorite storybook characters, playing with any musical toy is also a top choice for her.  It has been really cold, but taking a ride in the neighborhood is also great fun  - we can't wait for warmer temperatures!

When we first came home, Kristin was not fond of taking a bath - we asked and tried ideas from many experienced parents and even had both grandma's here one evening to give us tips.... ironically, despite everything being the same, that evening she enjoyed her bath and now any water she sees is fun to play in.  (Another adjustment for Boozer).

Kristin also loves "driving" around in her "car" - she scoots all over the place.  We are also happy to say she seems quite interested in the Duke games enjoying a close win on Coach K's birthday against UNC!

I am working on playing two instruments at once..... with my eyes closed!
I can't move.... but I am ready to take a stroll in the neighborhood!

I need to remind dad to check the oil in my vehicle - I just looked and it is a little low!

Just checking Boozer's water to make sure it is the right temperature!
It's a little warm, maybe he needs a fresh bowl.

There was some concern during the first half.....Let's GO Duke!
Great win, Duke!!!  Happy Birthday, Coach K!

Teething and a fever

Kristin is teething and we are not sure if it is related, but she also woke up with a fever Saturday afternoon which continued all day Sunday.  Fortunately Monday morning she no longer had a fever, but still wasn't feeling the best.   We are hoping she will begin to feel and act like herself soon.

Baby Girl and Furry Boy

My parents gave Scott and me our dog, Boozer (named after one of our favorite DUKE basketball players)  during the first year we were married.  He has been the "King" of the house for over ten years.....  We knew it would be an adjustment for him when he met Kristin, not to mention, he stayed with the grandparents for almost a month while we traveled  to China to bring our sweet baby home.  Kristin and Boozer both make sounds new to each other, but we believe over time they will be best buddies.... for now they are still adjusting to the idea - :-)

Boozer wants to know if someone is going to tell her this is his bed???
Someone is a little happier than the other!
